Artist Statement

The immediacy and simplicity of clay has always been so appealing to me. it takes form quickly, molds and conforms to whatever shape I put it in. It is a very hands on and physical process, and in my studio, I am always moving- weather throwing pots, mixing glazes, loading and unloading kilns, there is never a dull moment.

Art has always been a part of my life. I was never one for sitting still, and in grade school; I gravitated towards the chaotic buzz of energy and motion that was the art room.

Originally from Philadelphia, I moved to Phoenix in 2008 to major in ceramics at Arizona Sate University. I fell in love with the heat and the sunsets and never looked back.

I'm a thrilled to be spending my days perfecting my craft and selling my work to people locally and all over the world. I love that I can share my passion and knowledge of sustainable living through my ceramic work.

When I'm not making a mess in my studio, you can find me practicing hot yoga, cooking up scrumptious vegetarian delights, reading, playing with the studio mascot; Helix; and planning my next cross-country road trip.

Why Lafayette Avenue?

In Ventnor City, New Jersey, right next to the famous Atlantic City, there is is a quaint street where the front doors are always open, and families gather out on the front porch to enjoy the ocean view.

On Lafayette Avenue, there was a small grey house with a red door and that is where my family is from. That is where I spent my summers, dreaming and falling in love with this beautiful world we live in.
